Best March of the Machine Cards Ranked

MTG Mana, TCG, Magic the GatheringBest March of the Machine Cards Ranked

If you’re a Magic: The Gathering fan, then you’ll be thrilled with the latest expansion set called March of the Machine. It’s the end of the Phyrexian story that started with Dominaria United last fall, and it features some familiar faces from all across the multiverse!

1. Archangel Elspeth

A classic planeswalker card from Capenna, Archangel Elspeth is a white mono-white Planeswalker that is poised to become an important part of the format when March releases. She does three extremely valuable things for a relatively low cost. This is a great value card that you’ll want to be in your draft if you’re looking to play white-based control decks. She can pop out little dudes, resurrects any weak creatures you’ve cast, and close out the game in no time!

2. Etali Primal Conqueror

Double-sided bomb rares are the new black, and Wizards of the Coast has done a bang up job on the latest set. Etali, Primal Conqueror is a 7/7 Elder Dinosaur with trample that can be transformed into an 11/11 Phyrexian with an impressive feat of card-shuffling power and a cool ability to deal poison counters. It is also one of the most fun cards to play in Magic, and a clear winner among the best March of the Machine cards!

3. Elesh Norn

Elesh Norn is the leader of New Phyrexia, and she’s the self-proclaimed Mother Of Machines. She’s one of the main antagonists of Magic: The Gathering’s recent story arc. Elesh Norn is one of the most powerful white Phyrexian Praetors in Standard, and she has two strong abilities that make her stand out from the crowd. Her first ability taxes your opponents two life every time they deal damage to you, their creatures, or a permanent you control. It also exiles any creature your opponent controls if it deals damage to you. The second ability allows her to wipe the board of threats and bounce them continually. This is a fantastic card for controlling the board, and she’s very effective at shutting down other value strategies.

4. Invasion of Karsus

As one of the most enticing new cards in March of the Machine, Invasion of Karsus is a great way to wreak havoc on a board. The card deals 3 damage to each creature and planeswalker, making it a strong choice for taking down swarms of low-toughness creatures. This double-sided card also transforms into Refraction Elemental at no additional mana cost when exiled, which allows you to play it on the opposite side of the battlefield for even more value! Its range of damage-dealing abilities are perfect for dealing with larger groups of opponents in Commander or other high-powered formats.

5. Wrenn and Realmbreaker

Wrenn and Realmbreaker is the newest 3 mana Planeswalker to hit the competitive scene! Like many of the newer Phyrexian cards, Wrenn and Realmbreaker can be used in any format, but it’s best suited to decks that rely on mana acceleration. This is especially true for formats with a large number of dorks.  The best way to get your hands on Wrenn and Realmbreaker is to reach out to your local game store. If you’re interested in purchasing singles or booster packs, be sure to check with us here at your local game store The Book Broker and see what we have available!
